Open source hardware developed for the use in the Tunisian textile cluster

From March 22 to 25, our open source building workshop was successfully held at ENIT in Tunis to jointly build open source hardware. Funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Tunisian partners successfully built open-source machines for local use in the textile industry under the guidance of Helmut Schmidt University.

What will Fab City Hamburg look like in 2054?

On 26 January 2023, the third consortium meeting of the Fab City project of Helmut Schmidt University / University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg, funded by dtec.bw, took place. Research and application partners involved in the research project presented their work status at the Fab City Haus in Hamburg.

Our farm bot hibernates 

On the 29th of November 2022 the New Production Institute put the Farmbot into storage for a winter break. But before the Farmbot was put into hibernation, the partners involved, Klimaschutzstiftung Hamburg, Fab City Verein Hamburg and Helmut Schmidt University, met to discuss the results of the first test phase.

On 11th November 2022, the workshop "Legal Issues of Open Source Hardware" of the cooperation partner Bucerius Law School took place at Fab City Haus. Legal issues around the topic of Open Source Hardware (OSH) in the areas of IP rights, licenses and liability were discussed.
