From April to December 2024, everything at Jupiter will once again revolve around the topic of "circular economy" in Hamburg and we are delighted to be live on site with the OpenLab Microfactory to demonstrate new concepts for local and sustainable production.

This open access book, published in May 2024, provides current, interdisciplinary research insights into the Fab City concept. An approach that describes how modes of production and consumption can be designed. The work includes contributions from the fields of Citizen & Collaborative Innovation, Circular Design & Economy, Open Source Software Tools, Digital Product Passport, Federated (Open Source) Systems and Economic Governance.

The Pop-Up Circular Hub (PUCH) exhibition was a temporary hub for circular economy actors in and around Hamburg and took place from November 20 to December 8, 2023. The New Production Institute set up a microfactory to bring local production closer to Hamburg's citizens with individual building workshops.

The 'Center for Transnational IP, Media and Technology Law and Policy' at Bucerius Law School is tasked as a project partner in the dtec.bw project 'Fab City - Decentralized Digital Production for Urban Value Creation' with the legal examination of the Fab City and Open Lab infrastructure.

This approach includes the sharing of knowledge within a global network and the systematic characterization of infrastructure technologies for local production.
