AI-assisted foresight to identify signals relevant to value creation

The project “Value Creation Radar” is a research project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), which started in spring 2022. At the core of this research project, which is being carried out by an interdisciplinary project consortium, is the future of value creation in the areas of production, work and services, and has as its goal the methodical development of an AI-supported radar tool that is intended to enable the early identification and analysis of signals relevant to value creation. The identified signal clusters will then be validated by topic-specific communities and expert networks and interpreted with regard to their potential, with the intention of being able to support strategic decision-making and planning processes.

Background

The increasing globalization of recent decades has led to ever more complex supply and production chains. Value-adding processes today are characterized by intertwined systems and global networks. New, innovative ideas and dynamic developments can therefore have far-reaching effects. This harbors risks but also offers opportunities for value creation in the future. It is precisely the early recognition of such developments that enables companies to adapt as quickly as possible to emerging trends, but also offers researchers the opportunity to develop more resilient value creation models and systems in good time.
