Open Lab Starter Kit: New Prototypes presented

On September 23, 2022, another milestone was reached in the Fab City project, funded by dtec.bw. More prototypes of the Open Lab Starter Kit were presented. A large-format laser cutter and the world's largest open source 3D printer.

Open Lab Starter Kit

The New Production Institute of the Manufacturing Technology Laboratory, headed by Prof. Dr. Jens P. Wulfsberg and Dr.-Ing. Tobias Redlich, supports the research and development of Hamburg into a Fab City and is supported in this by the Center for Digitization and Technology Research of the German Armed Forces (dtec.bw).

Fab City

As part of the interdisciplinary research project Fab City, we are establishing a new type of urban value creation by means of decentralized and open production workshops (so-called open labs) in the Hamburg metropolitan region.
